Hi, I’m Helena. I love making websites. I love WordPress, StudioPress and most especially my MacBook Pro – it’s where all the magic comes together.
I love the excitement of creating a new website for someone. I love the flood of ideas for colours and layouts that come when I’m talking to a new client about their website project. I love seeing a new website come to life on the screen and I especially love the excitement of my client when they see their ideas become a reality on the world wide web.
When I start working with you, I want to know why you do what you do – what your passion is, what’s behind your business goals, what gets you up in the morning.
My dream goal is to live in a beautiful house right on the beach and travel regularly with my husband and son, learning about and experiencing first hand, all the amazing things this beautiful world has to offer.
I got bitten by the travel bug on my first overseas trip to England, France and Italy in 2004 (I was a late starter to overseas travel). This was the first time since the death of our daughter in 2002 that I felt excitement and enthusiasm for life again.
It was during that trip that we decided that if we had children again, we would homeschool them and travel the world and experience life rather than just read about it in books. Life was too short and precious to be going to a job you didn’t love just because every one says that’s the way it should be.
Flash forward to now and I’m a Mum to a beautiful little boy and we live just a few houses away from the beach. I stay at home with my son (and make beautiful websites) and soon my husband (the DIY Website Coach) will be free of his full time job so he can be at home with us too. The travelling life is getting closer.
So what does this have to do with creating websites? Being a Stay at home Mum doesn’t mean you have give up on your creative outlets – it’s the perfect opportunity to give something new a go. And that’s where I come in – helping you to get your business – your passion – online.
Over the years of listening to your comments, I’ve discovered 4 main things that are important to you -
- You want your website to be beautiful so you can proudly show it off to the world,
- You want the right people (besides friends and family) to be able to find your website,
- You want your site, whether it be a personal blog or a business website, to generate an income (so you can afford more of the fun things in life).
- You want to be in control of your own website and not at the mercy of a developer who charges you every time you want to add or change the content on your site.
Web design is ever-evolving – designs change, technology changes – and in addition to creating websites, I’m constantly reading about and implementing the ideas that produce the best results.
I exclusively use WordPress to create the best possible website for you – a website that is easy for you to add your own content to, is very search engine friendly and best of all, can be made to look the way you want it to.
